For this project, I shot an in studio ‘Film Noir’ or ‘Neo Noir’ style portrait using continuous lighting. The key to a successful Film/Neo Noir shot is the balance between highlights and shadows, high contrast, and dark overall tones, and dramatic shadow patterns. Film Noir is renowned for its drama, but it can also be infused with glamorous, sexy, and mysterious undertones, and be used in conjunction with other genres like sci-fi.
