Due to overstimulation in the mind while considering their surroundings, neurodivergent individuals have a constant struggle to concentrate on completing tasks in an efficient manner. A lack of intentional rest also contributes to continuous mental, physical, and emotional strain, which negatively impacts their quality of work and study efficiency. Additionally, design considerations are not implemented around academic facilities and other external study spaces, showing a neglectful approach to neuro-inclusive design.
This self-directed project focuses on creating a space that integrates both productive and relaxing practices to help students work effectively and to feel more accomplished and rewarded.
At huddl, we create a safe, supportive space where anyone can thrive. By promoting both rest and productivity, we also help maximize work and study efficiency while inspiring creativity. With a focus on community, connection, and comfort. huddl empowers students from all learning backgrounds to feel supported and encouraged every step of the way.
The wordmark is friendly, playful, and inviting, reflecting the brand’s overall tone. It symbolizes collaboration and community, welcoming people into a space where they can think, move, speak, and act freely.
The name fosters a sense of inclusivity, creating a diverse yet intimate connection among individuals from all backgrounds. The highlighted letter “u” adds a personal, informal touch, much like how we casually text friends and family, making everyone feel included. Its shape also complements modular furniture, enhancing the brand’s versatility.
The two mirrored elements symbolize body-doubling, a technique frequently used by neurodivergent individuals, especially those with ADHD. The ghostly shapes emphasize how society often perceives neurodivergence as an invisible disability.
The bright, cheerful faces convey a warm and inviting atmosphere, designed to help students feel welcomed in the space.
